Homelab
Started in 2020 with trueNAS for media access , the times when I was amazed with accessing media on network, discovering smb ftp protocols existence, then slowly grinding on truenas.
Then travel made another requirement for raspberry pi having dietPi-OS setup with ease of install, trying PiMox on a 4g ram with great bottlenecks.
RPI Server

Used to run dietpi-os on this one for smb share, docker running basic stuff like pihole, octoprint, jellyfin, esphome.
Dietpi as it is the lightest distro for pi and quite nice for me when I wanted stuff to be set quick without any much configuration.

Node 1 :#
- CPU : Ryzen 9 5700x
- RAM: 160GB
- 16TB - 4TB Split
- NVME - 1TB (2) - Proxmox . Gallery
FileSystem : [mergerfs](/project/hard-drive Drive')
Used to have zfs but required more storage without spending money, so started having a great backup system instead of redundant drives which I’ll be discussing in another post.
Now having a great proxmox nodes , Listing the major purposes for which they’re being used:
- Media - Sonarr, Radarr, Jellyfin , Prowlarr
- Immich - The great tool everyone should host, got the separate 1TB nvme binded with zfs on host, transferred to vm with smb.
- CouchDB : Notes mount for obsidian , using the livesync feature for clients sync.
- Caddy : Reverse proxying all the services , had this setup in a separate container for network isolation.
- Tailscale - Twingate : Tailscale due to its stability , twingate to reduce bottleneck - great speed - using it for media server.
- Lazydocker - Great tui for managing docker containers.
- NTFY - Notification server for alerts , had this used greatly for temperature checks weekly and other stuff.
Node 2#
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
- RAM: 32G
- 1tb nvme, 256g ssd
Running 2 vm for now :#
- Proxmox node with proxmox backup server .
- A windows vm , passed through my internal graphics to a windows vm, for wired access over moonlight , running Apollo - the sunshine fork
